Te Anau offers many fly fishing waters to fish and, like Queenstown and Wanaka, heli or boat charters are required to access these stunning wilderness rivers. It gets its fair share of weather fronts but we all know fishing in the rain can be very productive. These clear waters hold a lot of big Rainbows and yes certain location have some very big Browns especially in the years where the mice are about in high numbers.
As with all fly fishing locations in New Zealand we highly recommend using a professional fly fishing guide. Professional registered fishing guides all hold valid department of conservation concessions and insurances.
